Summary:
FM Investments Management (FMIM) is seeking an Analyst - Private Equity to support its growing private equity and private markets investment platform. The role will focus on evaluating direct and co-investment opportunities across a broad range of sectors, working closely with senior investment professionals throughout the investment lifecycle. Responsibilities include opportunity screening, due diligence execution, and preparation of senior leadership investment meeting materials and memos.
The Analyst will play a critical role in building and reviewing detailed financial models for prospective investments, assessing value drivers, downside risks, and return sensitivities. In addition, the role will support portfolio construction, risk analysis, and ongoing performance monitoring, contributing to the development of investment views that are aligned with FM's long-term capital objectives and disciplined risk framework.

This position is an exempt, full-time office-based position in Boston, MA.
Key Responsibilities
  • Screen new investment opportunities.
  • Research specific investment themes.
  • Stay up to date with private equity market trends.
  • Evaluate private equity co-investments and direct opportunities across buyout, growth, and special situations strategies.
  • Perform investment due diligence, prepare investment memos and recommendations.
  • Perform valuation analysis using financial statements and projections and comparable performance of companies.
  • Track and monitor investments in portfolio including quarterly results, valuation movements, and KPI tracking.
  • Analyze portfolio and prepare financial models.
  • Perform GP due diligence, including track record analysis, attribution of returns, and qualitative assessment of teams and processes

Qualifications
Required Work Experience and Required Skills
  • 1-3 years of experience preferably in Private Equity firms, Investment Banking, Asset Management firms or other entities in the financial sector.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinking and high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to successfully multi-task with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong judgment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to articulate and present points of view and ideas effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package (mainly Excel and PowerPoint). Strong background in financial modeling and valuation; advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience evaluating private equity funds and/or co-investments preferred.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
