Metallus Internship Program

At Metallus, our internship program is designed to make you part of our team. You will have opportunities to grow your skills, develop as a leader, and network with our managers and leaders. Our program allows you to gain real work experience in a team environment. Metallus also supports your career readiness development through workshops with topics like resume building and interview prep.

Metallus Internship Includes:

Internship Assignment: Full Time - Summer 2027

  • Start date: 05/17/2027

  • Update electrical drawings and schematics: 

    • One-line diagrams

    • Distribution layouts

    • Control Schematics

  • Observe and oversee annual LOTO Audits

  • Support investigation of service interruptions & Equipment failures

  • Work with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping circuits 

  • Update locations of: Poles, Lines, Transformers, & Circuit Breakers

  • Gather data on Load demand, Voltage levels, & Equipment performance

  • Use tools/software to analyze system performance trends

  • Support reporting on Outages, Voltage deviations, and Equipment efficiency

Internship Qualifications:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

  • Must have completed 30 or more credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester

  • Must be a full-time student attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university

  • Preferred majors: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Tech, Electrical Power Utility Tech, or related
