Power BI Developer -- Healthcare Analytics - Onsite

KGO Consulting

Weston, FL • On-site

$100K - $130K/yr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Posted 12 days ago

Key responsibilities

  • Deconstruct existing Tableau workbooks and rebuild them in Power BI, including data sources, calculations, and dashboard logic.

  • Work with client report owners to confirm requirements, rationalize workbook inventory, and validate migrated reports against originals.

  • Design, optimize, and document semantic models in Power BI, and manage content deployment and lifecycle in the Power BI service.

Job description

About KGO Solutions

KGO Solutions is a Florida-based analytics consulting firm specializing in healthcare data infrastructure. We design, build, and modernize reporting and analytics platforms for major South Florida health systems and health plans — SQL Server, Azure, Power BI, and the healthcare data (claims, encounters, clinical) that runs underneath them. We are a small, senior team that works at a peer level with enterprise clients, and we are growing.

The Role

We are hiring two Power BI Developers to drive a large-scale Tableau-to-Power BI migration for a major Florida health system — an enterprise-wide modernization effort spanning hundreds of Tableau workbooks and data sources. You will work out of our Weston office alongside our senior team, partnering directly with the client's BI group in a co-delivery model.

This is a full-time position with KGO Solutions, not a contract engagement. The migration is your first assignment; our portfolio of health system and health plan clients is where you go next.

What You'll Do

•     Deconstruct existing Tableau workbooks — data sources, LOD calculations, parameters, dashboard logic — and rebuild them properly in Power BI (semantic models, DAX, Power Query), not lift-and-shift

•     Work with client report owners to rationalize the workbook inventory, confirm requirements, and clarify metric definitions before rebuild — not every workbook earns a migration

•     Design and optimize semantic models: import, DirectQuery, and composite modes; incremental refresh; row-level security

•     Validate migrated reports against the Tableau originals — data parity testing and UAT with business users

•     Write and tune T-SQL against SQL Server sources

•     Manage workspaces, deployment pipelines, and content lifecycle in the Power BI service

•     Document semantic models and transformations; help build reusable migration standards and patterns

What You Bring

•     4+ years of hands-on Power BI development: DAX, Power Query / M, semantic modeling, and Power BI service administration

•     Working knowledge of Tableau — enough to read and deconstruct complex workbooks (LOD expressions, calculated fields, parameters, actions)

•     Strong SQL skills; T-SQL preferred

•     Experience on a BI migration or platform conversion project strongly preferred

•     Healthcare data experience (claims, encounters, clinical, or payer data) a plus

•     Experience working in a government cloud tenant (Microsoft 365 GCC or similar) a plus

•     Local to South Florida: this is an onsite role at our Weston office, with occasional travel to a nearby client site; no relocation assistance

•     Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Compensation & Benefits

•     $100,000 – $130,000 base salary, depending on experience

•     100% company-paid medical, dental, vision, and gap insurance for individual coverage (50% company-paid for family coverage) — coverage begins the first of the month following your start date

•     401(k) with company match — starting within your first month

•     15 days of PTO annually

•     Quarterly profit-share bonus program after your first year
