Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer 1 supports the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components for Alpha Technologies' precision laboratory instrumentation. This entry-level role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and foundational engineering contributions under the guidance of senior engineers. Ideal for recent graduates or engineers with 0–2 years of experience.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing components and subassemblies using 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
- Support validation and testing activities, including basic mechanical and thermal analysis.
- Document technical work including test results, design notes, and engineering changes.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to understand project requirements.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to address basic engineering issues.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and ISO guidelines.
- Contribute to product cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 0–2 years of mechanical design experience, internships or co-ops preferred.
Required skills:
- Basic proficiency in 3D CAD modeling of mechanical components (preferably SolidWorks).
- Understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
