Build the Interfaces Behind Modern Automation

SFI is looking for an HMI Application Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is an opportunity for an early-career engineer who is interested in industrial automation, technology, and developing the applications operators use to monitor and control real-world processes. We’re looking for someone who has a strong technical foundation, enjoys problem solving, and is ready to grow in their skills in HMI/SCADA development and industrial automation

What You’ll Do:

·         Develop, configure, and modify HMI and SCADA applications for industrial automation projects

·         Build operator screens, graphics, navigation, alarms, trends, and other application features

·         Work with Control System Engineers to understand PLC data and integrate it into HMI/SCADA applications

·         Translate project requirements, drawings, and customer needs into functional user interfaces

·         Test and troubleshoot applications to make sure they work as intended

·         Make application upgrades, revisions, and system improvements

·         Participate in internal testing and project quality checks before systems are deployed

·         Follow SFI’s programming standards, development practices, and project processes

·         Build your knowledge of industrial controls, automation systems, and real-world process applications

What We’re Looking For:

·         A bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field

·         An interest in industrial automation, controls, HMI/SCADA systems, or software development

·         Strong computer and technical problem-solving skills

·         Excellent attention to detail

·         The ability to learn new software and technical concepts quickly

·         The ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized across multiple projects

·         A collaborative attitude and a willingness to ask questions and learn from experienced engineers
