Job description

QTS' summer internship program will provide you first hand experience into the fast paced world of the data center industry by providing weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation program, and site based activities, socials and volunteering events. Every intern will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives helping with anything pertaining to the whole life-cycle of a data center build and/or company operations.
The DCIM Software Engineering intern has two potential scopes of responsibility. On the PLC software design side, the individual will gain valuable exposure to collaborating with a team working on automation solution based tools to be leveraged across the organization. For those more interested in the Project Management side, you'd act as a Project Analyst, reporting to a PM, tracking deliverables, organizing data, and performing research around topics as necessary. To be considered, applicants MUST HAVE prior PLC exposure/experience in a classroom or internship setting.
Technology Intern:
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization
  • Facilitate changes and IT based tools and access for staff at all levels
  • Leverage project management tools to properly track ongoing deliverables across projects
  • Maintain updated budgets, schedules, and status reports for assigned projects.
  • Use programming languages like: Python, JAVA, C++, Golang
  • Leverage controls engineering methodologies and tools

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be a US Citizen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MUST HAVE prior PLC exposure/experience in a classroom or internship setting.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, HR, facilities engineering, or related industries.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, etc.
  • Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).
  • Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS's partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school:

    • Georgia State University
    • Southern Adventist University
    • Texas A&M University
    • University of Kansas
