Job description

Environmental Engineer

This role is ideal for someone with a technical background, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in environmental programs, permitting, and regulatory work.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day environmental compliance activities across air, water, stormwater, hazardous waste, and chemical management programs.
  • Assist with preparing and submitting environmental reports to EPA, Ohio EPA, and local agencies.
  • Conduct routine inspections, sampling, and internal audits to ensure compliance with permits and regulations.
  • Maintain environmental records, logs, and documentation with accuracy and organization.
  • Help investigate environmental incidents or nonconformances and support corrective actions.
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams on new equipment, process changes, and product launches to ensure environmental requirements are met.
  • Participate in sustainability, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with product engineering and/or quality control to prepare and respond to customer compliance requests (i.e., REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred
  • 1–2 years of experience in environmental compliance, manufacturing, or a technical internship/co-op.
  • Familiarity with EPA regulations or environmental permitting (coursework or internship experience is acceptable).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical data.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to learn in a manufacturing environment.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
