Company Overview
Livestock Nutrition Center specializes in blending customized rations, supplements and premixes to meet the specific nutritional needs of Livestock Producer's operations. We understand that management, performance objectives and feeding practices can be vastly different between operations, and that these differences dictate specific nutritional or formulation requirements. Our experienced sales staff and nutritionist will work with the Producer to design a feeding program that is specific to their operation.

Our focus is to provide customized feeding programs, nutritional products, and expert service to livestock producers that promote their long-term success and profitability.
Position Summary
Support the LNC sales team by providing nutritional support and guidance on products and services related but not limited to cow/calf and pre-feedlot cattle. The ideal candidate will provide individual and group training of technical knowledge in ruminant nutrition and management and provide leadership in the selling process. They will also provide technical support to customers and vendors as needed. Additionally, they will participate in the development and research of current and new value-added products that support LNC.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Actively support the sales team and other related departments by providing in-depth nutritional knowledge and market expertise.
  • Work closely with sales, product-dealer specialists, large customers and prospects, and dealers to make nutritionally-sound recommendations based on current scenarios, management practices, and desired results to mutually benefit the customer and LNC.
  • Stay up to date on market and industry trends especially as they relate to LNC products and customer needs.
  • Provide recommendations from the field regarding product use and development, market competition, and identification of new products or application techniques to help grow current product line and/or expand on current use.
  • Identify and protect future benefit claims of LNC HD Nutrition portfolio through research, analysis, and patent/trademarks where possible.
  • Become fully knowledgeable on best use practices of LNC products and services.
  • Grow relationships and establish trust with key accounts by demonstrating strategic skills to solve complex problems and developing solutions that utilize LNC value-added products and services.
  • Serve as an expert in the field with limited direction, seeking to identify gaps in the current market and/or customer base and implement strategies to ensure product relevance.
  • Provide input to Vice President of Sales/Nutrition, Vice President of HDN Strategic Products and General Managers on the issues, expectations and strategic opportunities pertaining to the nutritional value of ingredients and blended feeds and how this input can be applied to accomplish company growth goals.
  • Maintain regular phone, email, and in person communication with sales, nutrition, and other departments as necessary.
  • Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by management.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Doctorate in Animal Nutrition or related field of study.
  • Ability to evaluate and formulate nutrition programs based on customer needs.
  • Ability to research and analyze market, industry, and customers, and to apply that information to manage accounts and increase sales.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business and professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and financial reports.
  • Attention to detail, time management, and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Teamwork mentality.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the beef cattle industry and markets.
  • Must be able to fluently write and speak English.
