The program then advances to splicing support and basic testing, where interns assist with splice enclosure preparation, butt and midsheath splicing activities, and use OTDRs, light sources, and power meters to verify continuity and splice quality. In the final phase, interns develop advanced splicing and troubleshooting skills, working with highfibercount cables (144–288 count), supporting complex splice configurations, and generating and reviewing bidirectional OTDR reports to diagnose signal loss and validate network performance.
