The Fidelity Intern Program (FIDTERN Program)
Fidelity's full-time, paid, 10-week FIDTERN Program offers students the opportunity to contribute to meaningful, real-world work and projects as valued members of a dedicated team.
Our program is designed to provide students with a firsthand experience of what it's like to work here full-time. We deliver a best-in-class program experience to ensure interns feel a sense of belonging and community, while receiving critical training and development to be a future Fidelity associate. Here's the experience you can expect to have as a FIDTERN:
  • Professional & Financial Development Sessions: Join exclusive webinars designed to equip you with essential skills for both your career and personal growth! Learn directly from senior leaders, sharpen your professional communication, explore strategies for maintaining well-being in the workplace, and build financial confidence through expert-led financial literacy workshops.

  • Mentorship: Opt-in to our intern mentorship program and connect with experienced professionals who will support your growth and help you navigate your career journey.

  • Regional Events: Build connections with leaders and fellow interns through engaging onsite experiences and unwind with your peers at fun local outings (like go-karting, pickleball, or bowling).

The Role
This internship will help you develop the technical, professional, and interpersonal skills that will be valuable throughout your career. Working side by side with some of the best technologists in the industry, you will perform relevant work with direct impact on our business and customers.
Our internships can be focused in the following areas:
Software Engineer: Interns will collaborate with team members to architect, develop, modify, test, and deploy software solutions while working on active business projects. Tech stack includes:
  • Java, Python, C, etc.

  • Object Oriented Principals (OOP)

  • Front-End (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, etc.

  • Back-End and Data (APIs, DBs - such as Mongo DB, MySQL, etc.)

Data Engineer: Interns will develop skills related to data sourcing, storage, cleansing, and building analytical algorithms by utilizing raw data. Develop scalable and distributed platforms using a variety of frameworks to process high volume, high velocity of structured and unstructured data. Tech stack includes:
  • Python, Java, SQL

  • Databases: My SQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, etc.

  • Data Visualization: Tableau, Power Bi

We also have limited opportunities in User Experience Design, Cybersecurity, and other business units.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • Current pursuit of Bachelor's degree preferably in a Technology major

  • Creativity and real enthusiasm for working with technology to tackle business problems

  • Client focused and results driven mindset

  • Effective communication

  • Ability to collaborate in a team oriented, dynamic environment

  • Critical thinking skills and an entrepreneurial spirit

  • Hands on technical project experience

  • Current college student undergraduate who will return to coursework after their summer internship

  • Availability for entire 10-week program and required to align to our hybrid working model

Fidelity's Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
