We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Transportation Bridge Engineer to join our Bridge team in our Raleigh, NC office. This is an exciting opportunity to launch your career by working on a wide range of bridge and transportation structure projects with the guidance and mentorship of experienced engineers. In this role, the engineer will work on a multi-disciplinary team developing bridge and structural plans for transportation projects for NCDOT, MDOT, VDOT and/or municipal localities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the design and analysis of highway and transit-related bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and plan sets.
  • Support senior engineers in developing construction documents and specifications.
  • Conduct fieldwork including bridge inspections, data collection, and site visits as needed.
  • Apply structural engineering principles and software tools to solve complex design challenges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across WRA to deliver high-quality projects.

Requirements  

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program, master's degree preferred
  • 0-4 years of relevant experience required
  • Desire relevant internship experience
  • Must be able to work independently and in a design group setting  
  • EIT/FE certification preferred
  • NBIS inspection, a plus
