Job Overview
Nonprofit Administrationinterns gain practical, hands-onexperienceinanonprofitsetting. Thisis a unique internship for those seeking experiencewithproject management, recruitment,grant requirements,volunteercoordination,andfinancialmanagement.The Nonprofit Administration internwill be part of a larger team that provides support to other areas of the organization as needed.This internship position is unpaid, but interns will receive a $500 stipend to help cover costs related to the internship (food, housing, transportation), and college credit can be earned.This internship is to be completed in person, not virtually.
The NPA intern will be trainedinvarious tasks and procedurestosupport the Financial and Administrative team.Theywill contribute to projects and recurring tasksforfinance,humanresources,volunteercoordination,Connectionsprogram& mailingsupport,communityengagement,as well as general administrativeday-to-dayduties.Collaborating across departments, the intern will takethe lead on coordinating intern recruitment and hiring for the following semester.
This in-person internship will run from August 31st, 2026, through December 18th, 2026, and will have amandatoryorientation onThursday, August 27th,from 9:00am-2:00pm at the Family Futures office. This internship can also be extended into the next internship period for a second semester. If interested in a longer internship period, please reach out to the hiring manager.
Family Futures employees, volunteers, and internsserve as spokespersons and champions of Family Futures in the communities we serve. A position at Family Futures may entailthe following: the use of a personal vehicle,lifting ofboxes (roughly 25 lbs.), as well as attendance of community events outside of regularly scheduledhours. Roles and Responsibilities
- Gaining knowledge of the general principles of nonprofit administration
- Office management support
- Volunteer management support including planning and data organization
- Creating and modifying documents using Microsoft Office
- Inputting and analyzing data in various online platforms and spreadsheets, including confidential information
- Run and properly store background checks for staff, interns, volunteers, etc.
- Internship Program Support- Recruit and hire next semester's interns, collaborate with other departments on their internship needs
- Assisting with email management
- Assisting with financial management
- Assisting with special projects
- Collaborating across departments with interns, staff, and volunteers
Required Qualifications
- Currentcollegestudent or recent graduate
- Experience or interest in nonprofit management, administration, or other relevant fields
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Detail-orientedand organized
- Effective time management and organization
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to work at least 15hours per week
