Are you ready to make a real impact in the lives of those on the path to recovery? As a Recovery Technician - Detox at Gateway Recovery Center in Brooklyn Park, MN, you'll be a steady, supportive presence for clients as they begin their journey toward healing, rebuilding, and hope.
In this role, you'll conduct basic health screenings, gather medical histories, observe and support clients during detox, and help them get acclimated to the program-playing a key part in their early steps toward lasting recovery. Our residential/detox/op programs involve close contact with individuals in the formative phase of their recovery.
Pay: $16 - $21 / hour
Shift: Full-Time, 2nd Shift - Hours: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
*Shift differential is available!

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic health screening procedures with all clients as directed by Registered Nurse
  • Interview clients to obtain basic medical history and current health complaints
  • Observe the guest's health status, particularly as it relates to detoxification and withdrawal
  • Assist clients with basic activities of daily living and personal hygiene, as needed
  • Orient clients to their rights per Minnesota Statute 148F.165, and staff responsibilities to clients per Minnesota Statutes 144.651 and 253B.03
  • Assist in sanitation and disinfection of the facility
  • Follow Company's screening and admission protocol
  • Attend mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled
  • Assist in orientation of new employees and interns, if assigned
  • Provide legible, written documentation of client notes/progress in the EHR system and must be completed by program and DHS regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and must be free of substance use problems for at least one year
  • Must possess a minimum of high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) with some college or technical school preferred
  • At least two years' experience working as a technician or health services assistant in a substance use disorder detoxification or treatment setting, preferred
  • Current first aid certificate
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certificate
  • Knowledge of State and Federal law regarding confidentiality of alcohol and drug treatment records and HIV testing/status including 42 CFR, part 2
  • Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Technology proficiency with various software packages including EHR/EMR and keyboarding skills
  • Experience with first aid for seizures, trauma, and loss of consciousness
  • Knowledge of client bill of rights in Minnesota Statutes 148F.165, and staff responsibilities in Minnesota Statutes 144.651 and 253B.03
