Title of Position: EMS Faculty Member - Fall 2026 Start
Bargaining Unit/Salary Range: MEA Faculty; Starting Salary: $52,610.57 - $59,213.66; depending upon qualifications and experience.
Funding: This position is funded by a MEMS Sustainability grant. The grant is currently funded through March 31, 2028.
Job Summary: EMCC is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced EMT (AEMT), and CAAHEP Accredited Paramedic programs. Responsibilities include teaching 15 contact hours or the equivalent each semester of didactic, laboratory, and coordination of EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic students in a variety of clinical and field internship settings. Faculty are responsible for developing, modifying, and assessing curricula; continuously improving teaching methodology and student-centered learning; staying current in the field; advising and maintaining scheduled availability to students; participating with other faculty in developing and managing courses, curricula and academic policy; participating in department and college activities, including committee work and college service; and other professional duties related to the position that contribute to the success of the Department and College.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, Maine licensed paramedic (or attainment within 3 months), Maine licensed Instructor/Coordinator (or attainment within 3 months), or NREMT Paramedic certification (NRP), teaching in the adult education, Community College, and/or University setting.
Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated experience in professional relationship building, clinical coordination experience, and simulation experience. Previous experience teaching in an accredited EMS program.
