The Opportunity

PRE-AWARD / CONTINGENT OPPORTUNITY: Polaris is building a qualified candidate bench for anticipated BAH-led NGA VERTEX positions. Employment, assignment, start date, and compensation are contingent on contract award, Polaris workshare, funding, final position availability, prime/customer approval, and completion of required security and onboarding actions.

Work Arrangement: Primarily on-site; Government-authorized ad hoc telework only

Primary duty location is NGA-STL in Arnold / St. Louis, Missouri, or another Government-approved local work location as directed by the Government.

Primarily on-site. Telework may be authorized by the Government on an ad hoc basis after approval of the applicable telework plan; telework is not guaranteed and personnel must remain recallable to the duty site.

Regular schedule is generally 40 hours per week. Crisis or emergency conditions may require temporary surge support, including weekend work. This is not a deployment position.
 

Clearance Requirement

Current Top Secret; SCI eligibility/access required for assignment

Must possess a current Top-Secret clearance and be eligible for favorable NGA adjudication for SCI access. Active TS/SCI access is required before performing TS/SCI work. Additional accesses may be required by assignment.

Personnel may be subject to a Counterintelligence-Scope Polygraph examination at NGA request.
 

What You'll Work On

Research and analyze information from multiple sources and develop reports, briefings, assessments, and recommendations for leadership.

Lead or support business process development, improvement, and re-engineering initiatives using metrics and performance measures to evaluate results.

Develop, coordinate, review, or implement strategic guidance, policies, procedures, SOPs, and performance assessments.

Serve as an action officer or project manager for initiatives from planning through execution, including schedules, resources, risks, milestones, stakeholder coordination, and deliverables.

Identify organizational inefficiencies and recommend practical, measurable improvements.

Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to clarify requirements, de-conflict issues, build consensus, and deliver customer-ready products.

Support analytical and staff functions such as meeting coordination, records, task tracking, SharePoint, data analysis, audit/compliance activities, or specialized mission-support programs as assigned.

Apply practical AI/ML-enabled tools, where available and appropriate within NGA, to improve workflows, business processes, analysis, or performance measurement.
 

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field and at least 7 years of relevant functional or cross-functional business experience; or at least 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree.

Highly developed critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical, and written/oral communication skills.

Demonstrated expertise in project management, process improvement, and leadership responsibilities appropriate to a mid-level Business Analyst.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience using business/project tools such as MS Visio, MS Project, JIRA, SharePoint, or comparable tools appropriate to the assignment.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work with cross-functional stakeholders, and produce accurate, timely, decision-ready products.
 

Assignment-Specific Experience We Want to Identify

The VERTEX Business Analysis work role uses a broad base position description with assignment-specific requirements. You do not need every specialty below. Polaris will assess your strongest documented experience and align qualified candidates to the most defensible assignment.

Records and Information Management (RIM), file plans, records compliance, document lifecycle, or information governance.

Business process analysis, workflow redesign, process improvement, performance metrics, or continuous improvement.

Program/project management, action officer responsibilities, schedules, requirements, risk, resources, milestones, or deliverables.

COOP, business continuity planning, mission assurance/readiness, enterprise risk, or test/training/exercise support.

FISMA/IT audit, cybersecurity/IT policy, enterprise architecture, compliance, or remediation tracking.

SharePoint, data analysis/visualization, organizational performance assessment, or executive decision-support products.
 

Preferred Experience

Experience supporting NGA, the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, or another complex federal mission environment.

PMP, Six Sigma, ITIL, or other relevant certification when aligned to the specific assignment.

Experience with data visualization, SharePoint, business-process modeling, performance measurement, or enterprise workflow/task-management systems.
