Job description

Position Description: CGI Federal is seeking a Senior Logistician to provide expert level logistics leadership supporting the full lifecycle of complex systems within a Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) program for the US Army. This role manages key logistics functions such as Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), provisioning, reliability and maintainability analysis, parts standardization, and sustainment planning. The Senior Logistician is responsible for anticipating and reducing obsolescence risks, improving logistics processes, informing lifecycle cost decisions, and ensuring systems are supportable and sustainable across all modernization phases. The ideal candidate possesses deep Defense logistics experience, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to coordinate logistics efforts across engineering, maintenance, program management, and supply chain teams. This position is located in Aberdeen, MD. Your future duties and responsibilities: Lifecycle Logistics Management . Manage logistics support across full product life cycles, from development through sustainment . Coordinate provisioning activities and manage sample/material requirements . Identify, track, and minimize obsolescence risks in parts and logistics processes Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Execution . Develop and implement ILS products including provisioning, RAM, technical documentation, and sustainment plans . Compile and maintain data related to parts standardization, commonality, and interchangeability . Resolve logistics challenges related to provisioning, sustainment, or fielding Cost Analysis & Technical Assessments . Perform system lifecycle cost analyses and logistics component studies . Evaluate logistics impacts of engineering changes, modernization strategies, and sustainment approaches . Provide data driven recommendations to reduce lifecycle cost and improve supportability Sustainment & Maintenance Planning . Plan, coordinate, and execute logistics support activities including maintenance requirements, repair analysis, and tool/test equipment recommendations . Assess maintenance approaches to improve reliability, maintainability, and availability . Coordinate logistics activities with engineering and maintenance teams Process Improvement & Policy Integration . Stay informed on logistics technology advancements and evolving Government policies . Apply new policies, tools, or methodologies to improve logistics workflows, data accuracy, and sustainment effectiveness . Recommend improvements to provisioning tools, logistics systems, or sustainment processes Cross Functional Coordination . Work closely with engineering, supply chain, ILS, training, and program management teams . Support technical reviews, readiness assessments, and logistics Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities . Provide logistics insights during design, testing, fielding, and sustainment phases Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Education . BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field . Certified Logistics Professional certification required . Substitutions permitted: - Six additional years of relevant logistics experience may substitute for the degree requirement - One academic year of related coursework may substitute for one year of experience Experience . 7+ years of experience as a logistician within the DoD environment . Experience developing ILS products, provisioning data, RAM analyses, and sustainment documentation . Experience performing lifecycle cost analysis and logistics component studies Technical Skills . Strong understanding of DoD logistics principles, acquisition logistics, and sustainment requirements . Ability to analyze logistics data and prepare detailed technical studies . Knowledge of provisioning processes, parts standardization, and configuration management impacts . Ability to resolve logistics and sustainment problems across multiple system areas Work Style & Competencies . Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills . Excellent communication and technical writing abilities . Ability to collaborate across cross functional engineering, program, and logistics teams . Capable of supporting fast paced modernization and fielding efforts Desired qualifications/non essential skills required: Advanced Logistics Competencies . Experience supporting C5ISR, tactical systems, or modernization initiatives . Familiarity with digital logistics environments, logistics digital twins, or model based logistics Tools & Systems Knowledge . Experience with Defense logistics systems (GCSS Army, LMP, DPAS, Navy ERP) . Knowledge of provisioning databases or parts management systems Certifications . DAWIA Life Cycle Logistics Level II or III . ASCM/APICS certifications (CPIM, CSCP) . SOLE - Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) Additional Skills . Experience leading logistics IPTs or sustainment working groups . Experience developing logistics training materials or mentoring junior logisticians .
