Job description

Overview of Role:
The Installation Engineer (Senior) supervises and directs the on-site installation of network equipment, structured cabling, and outside plant infrastructure for Department of Defense campus network modernization projects. This role manages installation teams, coordinates subcontractor activities, oversees rack and cabling installation, and maintains detailed installation schedules. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with electricians for electrical support, ensuring the availability of qualified personnel and tools, leading network cutover execution, conducting site infrastructure assessments, coordinating permit activities with base facility management, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements throughout the installation process.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Supervises and directs on-site installation of network equipment, structured cabling, and outside plant infrastructure for DoD campus network modernization projects. Manages installation teams and coordinates subcontractor activities; oversees rack/stack, fiber optic, and copper cabling installation; maintains detailed 3-week look-ahead installation schedules; coordinates with licensed electricians for all electrical support work; ensures qualified personnel and tools are available on-site; leads cutover execution and sequencing; supports site survey physical infrastructure assessments; coordinates permit activities with base facility management; and ensures compliance with DoD, Air Force, and base safety requirements throughout all installation activities.
Educational and Certification Requirement:
Senior: Over 10 years' experience and a M.A./MS degree.
RCDD preferred; 10+ yrs structured cabling/network hardware installation; DoD base installation experience
Must have an Active Secret Clearance
