  • Perform facility walkthroughs to identify housekeeping, maintenance, or operational needs.
  • Assist with organizing equipment, supplies, and inventory within the Track Operations department.
  • Help maintain operational vehicles and equipment under staff supervision.
  • Collect information and assist with updating maps, checklists, and operational documents.

  • Shadow department leaders during NASCAR race weekends and major events to learn how large-scale operations are coordinated.
  • Observe interactions with sanctioning bodies, vendors, contractors, and other Speedway departments.

  • Cross-functional coordination with Fire & EMS, Security, Guest Services, Competition, and Facility Maintenance
  • Incident management and operational problem solving

  • Leadership and communication within a major sports venue
  • Career development and networking within the motorsports industry

Qualifications

  • Current college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Motorsports, Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Valid driver's license preferred.

Schedule

This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during NASCAR race weekends and other major events.

Interns are expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week plus all events held during the semester, including nights and weekend as necessary. During this time, working hours will average 30 hours per week and some event weeks with 40 hours and overtime.
