Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer/Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector inMelbourne, FL.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Test & Evaluation directorate.

The selected candidate will participate in System Engineering, Software Development, System Integration and Test, Operations and Maintenance, Change Management and Documentation for systems that will be used to verify and validate mission and vehicle systems through multiple levels of test.

Example Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software for use across multi-domain, multi-platform system integration laboratories
  • Analyze and interpret formal and informal customer requirements and generate corresponding lower-level requirements that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Consult with customer stakeholders and present ideas in small group settings
  • Create innovative technical design in compliance with established requirements
  • Build high-quality, fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design
  • Define, implement, and document system tests
  • Perform software and hardware integration/troubleshooting
  • Focus on lab system configurations

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Systems Modeling & Simulation level (T01) or a Systems Modeling & Simulation level (T02).

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer (T01):

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by August 2026.

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

  • Be completing or has completed their Master's degree from an accredited institution by August 2026 or is completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and has 2 years of software/modeling & simulation engineering experience by August 2026.

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.

  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).

  • Experience with C++, C, LabView, Python, or other developing languages

Pay Range:

  • Associate Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer (T01): $65,800 - $98,800/year

  • Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer (T02): $79,300 - $118,900/year

    Primary Level Salary Range: $65,800.00 - $98,800.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
