Part-time, Internship

Posted 25 days ago

Job description

Job Purpose:
Navitas Semiconductor (Nasdaq: NVTS) is a next-generation power semiconductor leader driving innovation in gallium nitride (GaN) and high-voltage silicon carbide (SiC) technologies. Our products enable faster, more efficient power delivery across AI data centers, high-performance computing, energy and grid infrastructure, and industrial electrification.
With more than 30 years of combined expertise in wide bandgap technologies, GaNFast™ power ICs integrate GaN power, drive, control, sensing, and protection, delivering faster power delivery, higher system density, and greater efficiency. GeneSiC™ high-voltage SiC devices leverage patented trench-assisted planar technology to provide industry-leading voltage capability, efficiency, and reliability for medium-voltage grid and infrastructure applications.
We are seeking a motivated junior or senior undergraduate (or graduate student) with an Electrical Engineering background and strong mechanical engineering interests to join our Supply Chain Management team in Irvine, CA. This is an ongoing part-time internship running throughout the academic school year, designed to fit around a student's class schedule. Working closely with test operations, this intern will focus on building the business tools, engineering processes, and analytical frameworks needed to support demand planning and supply readiness for our New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. This is a data- and tools-heavy role - ideal for someone who enjoys translating engineering knowledge into structured business processes and decision-support systems.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Partner with test operations to perform industrial and mechanical design assessments, evaluating equipment, fixtures, and test hardware needs for current and upcoming NPI programs.
  • Develop and maintain demand planning tools and models in Excel and other business platforms to anticipate supply needs across the NPI pipeline.
  • Build and refine supply chain processes, workflows, and templates that improve visibility and predictability of material and capacity requirements.
  • Review and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation to assess design-to-supply chain implications and flag sourcing or lead time risks.
  • Leverage AI tools - including Claude and Microsoft Copilot - to automate reporting, accelerate data analysis, and enhance business process documentation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and program management to align supply forecasts with program milestones and launch timelines.
  • Track NPI readiness metrics, identify supply chain risks, and support the development of corrective action plans to keep programs on schedule.
  • Prepare structured analysis, dashboards, and status reports to communicate supply chain health to stakeholders and leadership.

Required Qualifications
Basic
  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior undergraduate in Electrical Engineering, graduate students are also encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated interest or hands-on experience in mechanical engineering - through coursework, personal projects, research, or prior internship/co-op experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data modeling, demand forecasting, or process analysis (e.g., pivot tables, scenario modeling, structured data tools).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfort working across productivity platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot or Claude for research, drafting, and analytical workflows.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize technical information for cross-functional audiences.

Preferred
  • Prior internship, co-op, research, or project experience in supply chain, operations, test engineering, or manufacturing within the semiconductor or hardware industry.
  • Exposure to NPI, stage-gate, or structured product introduction processes in a technology or hardware environment.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor test equipment, test fixtures, or test floor operations.
  • Coursework or project experience in industrial engineering, systems engineering, or manufacturing processes.
  • Experience using AI tools to build business workflows, automate repetitive analysis, or generate structured documentation.
  • Interest in or knowledge of Silicon Carbide (SiC), GaN, or Wide Bandgap (WBG) power semiconductor products and their supply chain considerations.
  • Prior experience working in cross-functional teams within a fast-paced product development or engineering environment.

What We Offer
A front-row seat to the future of power electronics. Work on cutting-edge GaN and SiC technologies that are transforming AI data centers, electrification, and global energy infrastructure.
A fast-paced, high-energy environment. We move quickly, make decisions with purpose, and empower employees to take ownership and drive real impact from day one.
