Junior Electrical Engineer (Entry-Level; Engineering Degree req.) Description
Our client, a rapidly growing lighting manufacturer, is looking to add a new Jr. Electrical Engineer to their Team in Tinley Park, IL. You'll support product development efforts while helping manage projects from start to finish. These projects move quickly, so you'll typically oversee 5-10 at a time while verifying specifications, supporting product testing/certifications, and helping keep timelines on track. If you're looking for a role heavily focused on electrical design or fabrication, this would not be the right fit. However, if you want to grow your career in project engineering within a manufacturing environment, this could be a great opportunity. You'll work with an Engineering Manager who values autonomy and doesn't believe in heavy micromanagement. Although the team is smaller, the company has continued to see double-digit growth year over year, so there's strong stability behind the business. Whether you have post-degree experience or are looking to launch your career, this is a great opportunity for someone who wants variety in their day and exposure to multiple areas of the business without sacrificing work/life balance. Plus, with excellent benefits, Summer Fridays, and an easy-going culture, this is the type of team people genuinely enjoy being a part of.
Junior Electrical Engineer (Entry-Level; Engineering Degree req.) Responsibilities
• Coordinate projects related to product development and new launches
• Develop and verify product specifications to support customer needs
• Support product roadmaps, project schedules, and milestone timelines
• Recommend product ideas, assist with prototypes, and support approval processes
• Assist with product testing, validation, and certification efforts for lighting products
• Maintain product certifications and create data for initial purchase orders
• Approve specification sheets, installation instructions, and product literature
• Organize technical files, engineering documentation, and product packaging information
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support product launches and continuous improvements
• Conduct product qualification testing and document results
• Organize product samples and assist with product testing requests
Junior Electrical Engineer (Entry-Level; Engineering Degree req.) Qualifications
• Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required
• Engineering experience in a professional setting (co-op, internship, or post-degree) required
• Foundational knowledge of electrical systems and components required
