Job description

OTC Industrial Technologies is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in West Chester, OH! As a Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for the design of air compressor facilities, as well as working with various other departments (sales, service, etc.) to support their efforts using your engineering knowledge and expertise.

What You'll Do

  • Design air compressor facilities and work with manufacturing to support their production.
  • Conduct reviews of your design with safety, manufacturing, service, project management, and other teams.
  • Detail components from your design and provide to manufacturing for builds.
  • Design to continually improve safety, quality, serviceability, and cost of the product.
  • Create Bills of Material and work with Operations to order these items.
  • Create standardized procedural documents to assist in streamlining drawings.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to create manufacturing work instructions.
  • Interface with suppliers to specify and improve equipment.
  • Interface with the manufacturing department to efficiently design, specify, and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Interface with the sales department and installation team to correctly specify and design to meet customer needs.
  • Interface with the service department to correctly specify and design to improve the serviceability of the products.
  • Assist the manufacturing and installation process as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.


What You'll Need: 

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent required
  • 3-7 years of related experience in an industrial setting
  • Certified SolidWorks CAD Professional
  • Experience creating engineering drawings and models using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
  • Ability to perform light physical labor as required.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and training purposes may be required. 10%- 15% annually.
  • Attention to detail
  • Positive attitude
  • Compressor, filtration, and piping knowledge a plus
  • Understanding of IBC a plus
  • Sheet metal design a plus
  • Understanding of NEC and electrical routing a plus
