Job description

Salary: $28-42 DOE

WRS has an immediate opening for a Civil Construction Pipe Layer. The Civil Construction Pipelayer plays a critical role in the installation of underground utility systems, including water, sewer, and storm infrastructure. This position requires a strong understanding of grade, trench safety, and pipe installation techniques, while working collaboratively with field crews to deliver high-quality work safely and efficiently.

Your Responsibilities


  • Shoot grade using pipe laser, GPS rover stations, and grade rod
  • Reading civil plans to determine proper grade and slope
  • Installing a variety of pipe types and sizes
  • Follow all trench safety, shoring, and excavation best practices while maintaining a safety-first mindset
  • Perform general labor duties as needed to support the crew and keep projects moving forward
  • Assist with trench layout, pipe alignment, and utility installation in accordance with project specifications
  • Work closely with equipment operators to maintain line and grade during excavation and backfill



Your Experience & Qualifications


  • Ability to read and understand civil construction plans
  • Experience operating grade rod, GPS rover, and pipe laser
  • Familiar with, and experience laying a variety of different pipes including: ductal, PVC, HDPE, CMP
  • Have a functioning understanding of construction math
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with crew members and operators
  • Willingness to perform physical work in varying weather and jobsite conditions
  • Strong understanding of grade, slope, and underground utility installation practices
