About the Role:
As a Tax Intern, you will report to the Supervisory Accountant, Tax, and will be based out of our home office in Topeka, Kansas. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site in the Topeka office. Hybrid working schedule will require in office time twice a week for this position. You will be responsible for:
  • Pulling information and preparing state filings
  • Preparing premium tax estimates
  • Preparing municipal filings for insurance companies
  • Assisting with various projects for the tax and finance department

What We're Looking For:
Students eligible for the internship will be fulltime students available to work approximately 19 hours a week, beginning in December 2026. Student will be expected to work during and in between semesters part time and up to 40 hours per week during the summer. This is not a summer only internship.
  • Full-time college student in Accounting major with at least a 3.0 GPA in major
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft applications
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills
  • Accuracy and the ability to be very detail oriented are crucial
  • Ability to think objectively and analytically
  • Ability to work with various levels of management
  • Demonstrates initiative and able to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
