Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for implementing and supporting all phases of the contract manufacturing process at the Mindray New Jersey facility. This role defines and maintains technical documentation required for testing, inspecting, refurbishing, packaging, labeling, reprogramming, and assembling high-end medical equipment and PC-based products. The Manufacturing Engineer ensures production efficiency, product quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements through process development, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Essential Functions

  • Introduce new products to Mindray North America by creating manufacturing documentation for conversion, software, and test processes across ultrasound, anesthesia, and patient monitoring product lines.
  • Perform verification and validation of all manufacturing-related procedures, ensuring compliance and production readiness.
  • Specify, validate, and maintain production equipment, tools, and fixtures to support manufacturing operations.
  • Train manufacturing operators and technicians on basic troubleshooting, inspection, programming, and rework processes.
  • Support production teams in meeting demand targets, particularly during end-of-quarter cycles.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to introduce new products and enhance existing designs; provide feedback to Program Coordinators on process and technical issues.
  • Review engineering change notices (ECNs) to assess the impact on existing products and define integration strategies.
  • Support quality initiatives through failure analysis of returned goods, disposition of discrepant materials, and documentation of additional inspection requirements.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Purchasing, and Planning teams to coordinate product integration, lifecycle transitions, and obsolescence planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Mechanical Engineering (BSME), or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment (internship or co-op experience considered).
  • Solid understanding of electrical theory and principles for testing and troubleshooting complex electrical and electromechanical systems.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong PC and networking knowledge.
  • Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform electronic testing, board-level troubleshooting, and mechanical issue resolution.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively to meet deadlines.
