The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University thatis seeking a Full-time Faculty in Engineering .

This is a unique opportunity for a founding full-time Engineeringfaculty member to help build and shape a growing program from theground up. The successful candidate will play a central role indesigning and delivering core undergraduate courses - such asdesign, physics, statics, dynamics, electronics, materials, andthermodynamics - while driving innovation in curriculum, labs, andstudent experiences. We are seeking an educator who brings energy,creativity, and a passion for mentoring students, and who isexcited to develop a forward-looking program aligned with modernengineering practice and industry needs.

Engage fully with the University's mission through excellence inteaching and advising, ongoing scholarship and professionaldevelopment, and active service to the campus and broadercommunity

• Maintain a full-time credit load of 24 credit hours peracademic year, in collaboration with the department and the Officeof the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA)
• Participate in regular assessment and evaluation to fostercontinued pedagogical growth
• Design and deliver engaging, student-centered learningexperiences that inspire curiosity and deepen understanding.Leverage innovative and evidence-based teaching practices tosupport diverse learners and evolving educational technologies
• Advance entrepreneurial-minded learning by inspiring students to think creatively, take initiative, and apply engineeringsolutions to real-world challenges
• Be an active and present member of the campus community bysupporting students outside of the classroom during regularlyscheduled office hours and mentor and support students asdeveloping engineers through advising, research opportunities,internships, and experiential learning

• Pursue an active scholarly or creative agenda appropriate tothe discipline and share outcomes through publications,presentations, exhibitions, or performances
• Build and maintain a professional portfolio for advancement inrank and tenure
• Participate in campus professional developmentopportunities
• Maintain awareness of evolving disciplinary standards and bestpractices through ongoing professional development and engagementwith the broader engineering community

• Serve as a key contributor in developing and shaping theprogram's curriculum, courses, laboratories, and facilities as partof its ongoing growth and success
• Participate in and contribute to all department meetings,faculty meetings, convocations, and commencements
• Serve on and contribute to academic and/or University-widecommittees
• Assist in student recruitment and retention activitiesthroughout the academic year
• Represent the University in professional associations,conferences, or community partnerships related to the facultymember's field
• Perform other duties as assigned by the VPAA's office ordepartment head in support of the University's Mission

• Demonstrate a passion for teaching, mentoring, and contributingto a collaborative and innovative academic environment
• Exhibit expertise in the particular academic discipline beingtaught through completed coursework or qualified experience
• Design and apply instructional strategies that actively engagestudents and support their learning
• Communicate and collaborate clearly and effectively withstudents, staff, and faculty members
• Provide timely, constructive feedback on assignments andmaintain an active gradebook
• Adapt to changes in the educational landscape, such as newtechnologies and educational standards
• Practice professional and collegial behavior, culturalcompetency, and inclusive approaches in all circumstances

• Graduate degree Required; Doctoral degree Preferred
