Special Education Teachers (Math, Science, ELA) – ESY + 2026–2027 School Year

Location: Framingham, MA
Company: Amergis Educational Staffing (partnered with local school)

Amergis Educational Staffing is partnering with a school in Framingham, MA to hire Special Education Teachers for Math, Science, and ELA classrooms. These roles start ASAP for the ESY (summer) program with the opportunity to continue into the 2026–2027 school year.

Position Details
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Pay: Up to $58/hour (based on licensure & experience)
  • Setting: Small, structured classroom (max. ~10 students)
  • Program Type: 7-period day (45-minute blocks), IEP-driven instruction
Open Roles
  • Special Education Teacher – Math
  • Special Education Teacher – Science
  • Special Education Teacher / Sub – ELA
Responsibilities
  • Deliver structured lessons aligned with student IEPs
  • Provide individualized instruction, accommodations, and interventions
  • Support small groups of students (up to ~10) throughout the school day
  • Track student progress and assist with IEP development and implementation
  • Participate in assessments, including Extended Evaluation programming
  • Collaborate with staff and attend team meetings
Qualifications
  • Required: Massachusetts Moderate Disabilities License (Grades 5–12)
  • Preferred: Content-area licensure (Math, Science, or ELA)
  • Strong candidates without content licensure may be considered with relevant experience (waivers possible)

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12.  The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.  

Minimum Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred 
  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations 
  • Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred 
  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • Current CPR if applicable 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
