Job description:

POSITION TITLE: Program Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Director, Managing Director, Clinical Supervisor, Mental Health Clinical Supervisor

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Qualified Behavior Health Specialist/RBTs, Qualified Behavior Health Specialist /BTs, Clinical Aides, and/or other as assigned

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

PURPOSE: The Program Supervisor is a professional employed to provide services and/or participate in research within the broad field of applied behavior analysis (Baer, Wolf, and Risley, 19681). This position is involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interventions with individuals and groups to produce socially significant outcomes in fields such as education, developmental disabilities, child protective services, mental health, residential support and rehabilitation and a Psychology Assistant of mental health services.

The position is multi-faceted due to the variety of services that may be provided by this staff member depending on their specific caseload including but not limited to mental health treatment and support services, therapeutic behavior intervention services, behavior skills assessment, functional analysis, client training and education, direct treatment, and other treatment and services as directed.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field, with at least two years of applicable experience; or Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field, with one year of professional experience is preferred. At least 1-2 years prior experience with Applied Behavior Analysis or special needs children is preferred. Supervisor experience preferred.

CREDENTIALS REQUIRED: All staff assigned to this classification must acquire, or be in the process of acquiring, national certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst (BCABA) within 15 months of employment, and such certification must be maintained throughout employment. Must complete agency QBHS training upon hire.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have completed one year as a Program Manager with Empower or 1 year of similar experience with another similar agency. Must have experience working Must meet competencies

Specific Duties, Competencies, Responsibilities, and Behaviors

  • Administer assessments such as ABLLS, VB-MAPP, PEAK, AFLS, Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Apply professional training and experience to determine appropriate interventions for clients, to conduct field research, and to carry out other assignments appropriate to the specific program area
  • Apply Interventions and respond to the behavioral needs of clients which may involve serious behavior problems, developmental issues, autism, and/or issues of abuse or neglect
  • Develop and implement behavior programs, behavior plans, transition plans, and coordinate delivery of appropriate services to clients by providers to achieve therapeutic outcomes
  • Participate in interdisciplinary and/or case review meetings at which behavioral treatment programs are reviewed
  • Collect baseline and intervention data to evaluate outcomes
  • Change diapers and provides toilet training; run after children that have eloped from treatment area, get up and down from ground when needed
  • Provide staff and parent training and on-site support in the area of applied behavior analysis for families and providers
  • Conduct direct observations and assessments of individual clients in their living, educational, and community environments
  • Learn and continually demonstrate core mental health competencies for the provision of mental health services
  • Demonstrate evidence-based clinical implementation skills
  • Provide supervision and training of clinical implementation and staff
  • Follow professional and behavior requirements.
  • Meet productivity requirements
  • Attend and/or participate in meetings, staff development, education and training.
  • Interact with clients, including children, parents, teachers, community, and institutional staff
  • Create and maintain client binder and documentation
  • Identify and manage client behaviors of concern
  • Demonstrate Intermediate proficiency in computer programs, including not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and office specific programs
  • Demonstrate proficiency in grammar, writing, mathematical skills, spelling, punctuation and attention to detail
  • Perform other professional and administrative support duties related to the specific program
  • Complete all training, education, and development activities as required
  • Provide behavioral health services following the client’s treatment plan, and as qualified to do so, including but not limited to CPST and/or TBS services
  • Complete data collection, progress notes, and communication of client progress or lack thereof following internal procedures (e.g., progress note documentation, walkie procedures, Q/A systems, troubleshooting and program completion forms, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively within a treatment team; implement feedback as directed
