Duties and Responsibilities
Under support and supervision from the Director of Internships, this role will plan, develop, implement and assess the internship program, which is the signature pedagogy of the social work program.
  • Program develop internship opportunities with agencies and programs that will offer high quality learning experiences for all students
  • Work with internship management platform to enhance efficiency of program management
  • Collaborate with team to ensure that communications are accessible, including forms and manuals
  • Serve as a member of the RISE - (Resiliency, Inclusion, Support and Engagement) - team
  • Support and monitor students are adhering to the SW Code of Ethics and policies and procedures within the SSW program
  • Ensures that internship information is accessible and updated for new student orientations, open houses and all student events
  • Supports School Social Work Professional Educator Track students with placing and securing PEL-eligible schools/districts
  • Support OMSW students related to national and Chicagoland internships; partner with OBMSW Internship Coordinator to align practice
  • ongoing collaboration with students needing Supportive Learning Plans and problem-solving.
  • Communicate weekly with Academic Advisors on student issues
  • Meet regularly with Internship Team, Student Affairs Team and participate in committees as needed

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
  • Minimum education required: Masters degree in Social Work or related field with at least 3 years of student facing experience

  • Minimum education required: Masters degree in Social Work or related field with at least 3 years of student facing experience
  • Preferred qualifications: collaborative; strong organizational and communication skills; self-starter; PEL-School Social Work endorsement; Bilingual-Spanish
