Job description

We are seeking a strategic engineering leader to lead our Industrial Engineering function at our Anoka, MN manufacturing campus. In this role, you will shape the direction of facility-wide industrial engineering initiatives, guiding investments in manufacturing systems, space utilization, production flow, and operational capacity. Working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and NPI teams, you will help one of nVent's largest manufacturing campuses improve operational performance, support continued growth, and scale manufacturing capabilities to meet evolving business needs.
** You will work onsite, 5 days/week, in Anoka, MN. Relocation assistance may be available. **
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Industrial Engineers and a Capital Project Engineer supporting facility-wide operational and capital initiatives.
  • Set priorities for the Industrial Engineering department, ensuring resources are aligned to the highest-impact operational and growth initiatives across manufacturing value streams.
  • Provide direction for facility-wide improvements to material movement, manufacturing flow, workforce utilization, facility layout, and throughput that improve productivity, service, and operational performance.
  • Guide the planning and execution of major facility, equipment, and infrastructure investments in support of changing business needs.
  • Establish processes, templates, and operating mechanisms that improve project execution, consistency, and decision-making across the team.
  • Partner with operations and engineering teams to ensure manufacturing systems support current production requirements and future growth.
  • Apply engineering analysis, data, and structured problem-solving techniques to evaluate alternatives and support strategic operational decisions.
  • Help define the long-term manufacturing footprint, manufacturing strategy, and operating model for the site.

YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor's (B.S.) degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Ideally 10+ years of progressive industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or operations engineering experience, including at least 4 years of engineering leadership experience.
  • Strong background in industrial engineering principles including material flow, facility layout, labor optimization, manufacturing systems design, value stream optimization, and production flow optimization.
  • Experience leading facility-wide improvement, expansion, or operational scalability initiatives within a manufacturing environment; experience in automotive, heavy equipment, capital equipment, or similarly complex manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Experience leading capital investment projects, including investment evaluation, equipment implementation, and facility-related projects.
  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams and build alignment on complex manufacturing, facility, and operational initiatives.
  • Up to 10% travel as needed.

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
$123,500.00 - $229,500.00
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
