Job Description:

Job Summary

Responsible for performing age-specific mammography procedures for diagnostic and treatment purposes. Ensures accurate imaging and patient care throughout all procedures. Maintains compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards. Coordinates with healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes. Documents and manages patient records with accuracy and confidentiality.


Essential Functions

Reviews physician orders, verifies patient identity, and explains procedures to patients and families.

Performs mammography procedures with correct positioning, technique selection, and appropriate use of immobilization and radiation protection.

Conducts quality control procedures on mammography equipment and documents corrective actions as needed.

Maintains adequate inventory and performs equipment maintenance, including safety inspections and quality control activities.

Updates patient history, documents unusual conditions, and verifies accuracy of procedures for billing.

Participates in professional development, attends meetings, and engages in quality improvement activities.

Performs office and clerical procedures as necessary or requested.

Utilizes department and hospital communication equipment and procedures.

Provides instruction to students, technologists, and others as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.


Education Requirement

High school diploma or equivalent and vocational/technical training in a designated technical area


Experience Requirement

0-2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area


An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.

Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
