Job description

he ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of LTE/5G NR technologies, RAN architecture, call processing, 3GPP standards, and wireless system performance, along with the ability to communicate complex technical solutions to carrier customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop product, feature, and system requirements based on customer and network requirements.
  • Analyze customer requirements and translate them into detailed system requirements and design specifications for development teams.
  • Perform product and feature performance analysis and evaluate new product and software releases.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot detailed 4G LTE and 5G NR call flows and wireless protocols, particularly issues identified during lab and field testing.
  • Support chipset interoperability and IODT testing and troubleshoot technical issues through lab and field trials.
  • Support new technology and virtualized network introductions.
  • Provide technical expertise during pre-sales activities and develop technical solutions aligned with customer requirements.
  • Work directly with carrier customers to explain complex technical designs, capabilities, and network solutions.
  • Conduct technical presentations and educate customers on new wireless products, features, and services.
  • Support successful product deployments, new product rollouts, lab testing, and field trials.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, R&D, logistics, support organizations, and Samsung HQ teams.
  • Assist in resolving technical and project issues while maintaining customer commitments and timelines.
  • Travel periodically to support customer meetings, testing, and project activities.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of wireless/telecommunications industry experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of 4G LTE and 5G NR air interface, RAN architecture, and call processing.
  • Strong understanding of PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, and PDCP protocol layers.
  • Knowledge of 5G technologies including:
  • Massive MIMO
  • Hybrid Beamforming
  • 5G Numerology
  • New Waveforms
  • LTE-NR interworking/co-existence
  • 5G SA/NSA technologies
  • Understanding of 3GPP systems and Core/RAN network architecture.
  • Experience with system engineering activities such as:
  • Feature requirement identification
  • Feature documentation
  • Parameter optimization
  • Performance analysis
  • Test strategy development
  • Troubleshooting
  • Experience with 3GPP Release 15/16 is preferred.
  • Experience with wireless test and troubleshooting tools such as XCAL, QXDM, Wireshark, and Channel Emulator is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of both hardware and software architecture.
  • Software development experience is a plus.
