Job description

Join Our Team - IPEC Program Assistant (Food Distribution & Delivery Operations)

Do you want work that matters? Are you passionate about supporting tribal communities, local food systems, and student nutrition programs across New Mexico and surrounding regions?

The Indigenous-led food systems team at IPEC is hiring a dedicated and dependable Program Assistant to help deliver fresh, locally sourced food products to tribally controlled schools, BIE schools, and community partners.

This is more than a driving position - it's an opportunity to directly support food sovereignty, strengthen local agriculture, and build meaningful relationships with Native communities and producers.

What You'll Do:

  • Safely transport and deliver food products across regional and long-distance routes
  • Support produce aggregation, inventory management, and warehouse operations
  • Work directly with tribal schools, local growers, and community partners
  • Help ensure food quality, safety, and timely delivery
  • Represent IPEC with professionalism, reliability, and cultural respect

This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who:

  • Enjoys independent, hands-on work
  • Has professional driving or delivery experience
  • Takes pride in organization, safety, and customer service
  • Wants to contribute to community-centered food systems
  • Values relationship-building and serving tribal communities

Qualifications Include:

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • 2+ years of delivery or professional driving experience preferred
  • Ability to drive long-distance routes and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with tribal communities or schools is highly valued

Why Join IPEC? At IPEC, your work directly impacts schools, families, local producers, and Indigenous food sovereignty initiatives. You'll be part of a mission-driven team focused on strengthening healthy food access and supporting Native communities through culturally grounded programming.

Native American preference applies. All qualified applicants encouraged to apply.

Apply today and help move food, resources, and opportunity across our communities.

Salary: Hourly wage pay is $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
