Aprio invites high-performing accounting students interested in Tax to apply for the 2028 Aprio Spring (January-April) Internship Program.

This internship is designed for students who are eager to contribute, take initiative, and gain meaningful exposure to public accounting. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, leadership potential, and a commitment to professional excellence. Applicants should be interested in pursuing a full-time career in public accounting, be on track to pursue their CPA license, and have a clear plan for completing the required coursework and examination process.

Interns at Aprio dive directly into hands-on client work, collaborating with experienced professionals while developing the technical and professional skills necessary for a successful career in public accounting.

Internship Requirements
  • No classes are permitted during the duration of the internship period.
  • Spring internships are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and standard business hours.
  • This internship is designed as a hybrid experience, requiring at least 3 days in office, to maximize mentorship, collaboration, and real-time learning with our teams.

Position Responsibilities Tax Intern

Tax intern responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of tax returns
  • Supporting clients in tax research and planning strategies
  • Analyzing financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and compliance considerations
  • Collaborating with team members to deliver innovative and practical tax solutions
  • Interacting with professionals across the firm to support client service initiatives

Aprio's Tax team works with a variety of clients, providing interns the opportunity to gain exposure to complex tax matters while developing meaningful relationships with colleagues and clients.

Students who enjoy analytical problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaborative work environments will find our tax practice to be an excellent place to learn and grow.

Qualifications
  • Accounting major pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • Minimum 3.3 GPA
  • On track to meet CPA eligibility requirements with a clear plan to pursue CPA licensure
  • Interest in pursuing a full-time career in public accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to apply Excel skills in data analysis and reporting
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with clients and team members
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. No visa sponsorship is available for this position.
$33 - $33 an hour
Salary varies by internship and office location.
