Advanced Space | 2027 Summer Internship | Onsite

About the Role 

At Advanced Space, we're enabling humanity's return to the Moon and building the technologies that will take us to Mars and beyond. We're looking for a 2027 DevOps Summer Intern to join our DevOps team and gain hands-on experience supporting the cloud infrastructure, development tools, and automation processes that enable mission-focused software development.

As a DevOps Intern, you'll work alongside experienced technical staff who will provide mentorship and guidance throughout your internship. You'll contribute to projects that support cloud operations, automation, system reliability, and secure software development practices while learning how modern DevOps workflows support real aerospace missions.

This internship is ideal for students interested in cloud computing, infrastructure, automation, cybersecurity, and software development operations. You'll have the opportunity to apply your technical skills while gaining experience with industry-standard tools and technologies used to support engineering teams.

What You'll Actually Do 

Support DevOps and cloud infrastructure initiatives.

Work alongside technical staff on summer projects focused on improving development workflows, infrastructure reliability, and engineering productivity.

Gain hands-on experience with modern DevOps tools.

Support projects involving:

  • DevOps support across engineering teams and the company
  • Automation and scripting using tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Management and administration of platforms including GitLab, Artifactory, and SonarQube
  • AWS environment maintenance and patching activities
  • Cloud infrastructure and operational improvements

Learn cloud and automation practices.

Gain exposure to technologies such as:

  • AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, and Bedrock
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Containerized workflows and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
  • CI/CD pipelines and secure development practices

Share your work and findings.

Present project results through technical reports, presentations, and discussions with members of the DevOps team.

Who Thrives Here 

  • You are currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or another related technical discipline.
  • You have a foundational understanding of computer programming, operating systems, and software development practices.
  • You have an interest in cloud computing, infrastructure, automation, cybersecurity, and DevOps.
  • You have experience with or exposure to Git and version control systems.
  • You have familiarity with Linux/Unix command-line environments and basic system navigation.
  • You enjoy solving complex technical problems and exploring new approaches to improving engineering workflows.
  • You are curious, collaborative, and excited to learn from experienced technical staff.

Bonus Points if You Have Experience With

  • AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Python, Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting languages
  • GitLab, Artifactory, SonarQube, or similar development platforms
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Docker or Kubernetes
  • Cloud security or cybersecurity concepts
  • Linux system administration
  • Networking fundamentals
  • Automation or personal software/infrastructure projects
