Job description

Troon’s Corporate office, located in Scottsdale, AZ, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for an Accountant I on the cash team! We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and advance their career within a rapidly growing organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong commitment to professional development and a desire to succeed in a dynamic corporate environment.
 
The Accountant I works with a team who supports various assigned entities, properties and corporate functions across the Troon enterprise with the full-cycle accounting processes. This role assists with financial reporting and gains exposure to industry best practices.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily accounting activities, including posting transactions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and schedules under the guidance of senior accountants.
  • Perform basic reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and assist in researching variances.
  • Help monitor cash activity and coordinate weekly disbursements with assigned clubs as applicable.
  • Collaborate with General Managers, Operations leaders and Corporate teams to provide financial support.
  • Participate in training sessions and contribute to process improvement projects.
  • Developing ability to present financial information in a clear and professional manner, with opportunities to support internal discussions and occasional client-facing presentations.

Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and M365 Suite.
  • Understanding of fundamental accounting principles (GAAP).
Preferred:
  • Internship or coursework in accounting or finance.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (training provided).
  • Interest in pursuing CPA certification.
Knowledge and Skills:
Required:
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving aptitude.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Jonas Club Management software.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
Certificates/Licenses:
  • CPA Eligibility
Physical Requirements:
  • Minimum physical requirements required to perform the duties of the job

  • Normal office work environment.
