Crime Stories is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Production Assistant to join our production team in Atlanta. This role works closely with a distributed production team across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

As a Production Assistant, you will work directly with the show talent and the broader production team on all aspects of show production, including editorial support, studio operations, research, media management, and audio/video editing. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.


A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the host and editorial team in all aspects of daily show production
  • Assist with pre-production, live production, and post-production tasks
  • Coordinate with remote production staff and serve as the on-site liaison for the distributed production team
  • Help maintain studio operations, including testing connectivity, troubleshooting technical issues, and keeping the studio organized and production-ready
  • Conduct detailed research for stories, guests, and ongoing investigations
  • File FOIA requests and track related materials and deadlines
  • Source and organize photos, video, and supporting materials from social media platforms and online resources
  • Monitor email inboxes, viewer inquiries, social media accounts, and general audience responses related to the show
  • Assist with media management, file organization, and asset archiving
  • Edit audio and video content as needed for production and promotional use
  • Create or assist with basic graphics and visual assets for digital and broadcast use
  • Ensure all sourced media complies with rights and clearance requirements
  • Work collaboratively with producers, editors, and talent to meet daily production deadlines

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 4-year college degree required + Internship
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong computer and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Some experience with Adobe Premiere and Canva
  • Familiarity with audio/video editing workflows and digital media management
  • Strong research skills, including proficiency in locating information and media across social platforms
  • Understanding of media rights and clearances is a plus
  • Social media fluency across major platforms including Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Prior production, newsroom, podcast, digital media, or broadcast experience preferred
  • Must be based in or able to work in Atlanta, GA
