Job description

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Project Analyst (Data and Research) Intern to support our Urban Analytics & Economics practice in our Orlando, Florida office. Our team collaborates closely with Urban Design & Planning and Parks & Public Spaces to assess socioeconomic, demographic, fiscal, and economic trends and translate findings into strategic insights for public, private, and institutional clients.

This internship provides handson experience in applied research, data analysis, and project coordination within a professional consulting environment. This opportunity is a 6-month part-time paid position, hours are flexible and will be structured to accommodate student’s course schedule.

Internship Responsibilities:

  • Assist with data gathering, background research, and development of written and graphic summaries of findings.
  • Support primary demographic, economic, fiscal, and real estate/site inventory research, including participating in interviews and site visits as needed.
  • Help organize datasets, identify trends, and assist in building financial or statistical models using established GAI methodologies.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and visual materials that communicate key insights to project teams and clients.    

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Data Science, Urban Studies, Finance, Real Estate, Public Policy, Political Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Office; familiarity or interest in ArcGIS and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Interest in advancing analytical skills using tools such as Power BI or Power Query.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Curiosity, attention to detail, and a passion for research, analysis, and problem

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience or coursework in public finance, budgeting, or economic development is a plus.
  • Applicants are encouraged to provide a portfolio of academic or professional writing and/or data organization examples.
