As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to play a critical leadership role in the firm’s next stage of growth. This position offers the opportunity to influence tax operations, mentor developing professionals, enhance processes, and contribute to strategic decision-making within a collaborative and client-focused environment.

Position Summary:
The Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing the review and delivery of a broad range of tax engagements for business and individual clients. This role serves as a technical leader, quality control resource, and mentor to tax professionals across the firm. The ideal candidate combines strong tax expertise with leadership capabilities and a passion for team development, process improvement, and exceptional client service.

This is more than a traditional tax review role. The Tax Manager will help shape internal workflows, support talent development initiatives, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm.

This is an on-site role located in Westborough, MA with scheduling flexibility.

What You’ll Do:
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and provide technical guidance to clients and staff.
  • Research and resolve complex tax issues involving multi-state taxation, basis calculations, entity structuring, and other advanced tax matters.
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Review corporate partnerships, individual and non-profit income tax returns.
  • Serve as a quality control lead, ensuring accurate and timely filings.
  • Work closely with the team to improve review processes and overall efficiency.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop staff accountants and interns.
  • Provide constructive feedback and technical training to support employee growth and advancement.
  • Contribute to client tax strategy discussions and problem-solving.
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and team-oriented culture.

What You Bring:
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (MA).
  • 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting.
  • Experience reviewing 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 1040 and 990 returns.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office, Intuit Pro Series (preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office.
  • Strong commitment to client service and professional excellence.
  • Strong leadership instincts and a desire to mentor team members.
  • Confidence with multi-state, basis tracking, entity and other complex returns.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and a team-first mindset.
