The Tax Supervisor is responsible for planning, managing and delivering tax compliance and consulting engagements while providing proactive tax planning strategies to clients. This role oversees engagement workflow, team resources, billing and collections while preparing and reviewing workpapers and tax returns. The Tax Supervisor also mentors staff and interns, supports their professional development, enhances technical expertise through research and continuing education, and helps identify opportunities to grow the firms client relationships.

The salary range for this position is $88,000 to $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and managing tax compliance and consulting engagements and related projects, including preparing and reviewing workpapers and tax returns.
  • Develop and provide tax planning ideas and strategies to clients.
  • Supervise, foster, and motivate firm staff and interns by providing mentorship, leadership and career guidance.
  • Conduct research, continuously enhance technical professional skills, and develop expertise within the firm.
  • Identify and recommend new business opportunities for the firm.
  • Managing engagement workflow, engagement team resources, and engagement billing and collections

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelors degree in accounting
  • Five years experience in public accounting taxation
  • CPA license is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills
  • Executive presence and the eagerness to act as primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions to clients.
  • Ability to work hard and play hard in a fast-paced environment.
