Job description

Position Title: Security Watch Officer 

Status: Full-Time/W2

Hours/Shifts: Night/Days/Weekends-Supporting 24/7 Operations

Pay Range: $19.00-$20.00/hour

Job Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Position Overview:

 The Security Control Specialist is responsible for the continuous monitoring of surveillance systems and situational awareness platforms to ensure the security of assigned organizations. This role demands a high level of attentiveness, critical thinking, and effective communication to detect, assess, and report potential threats or incidents. The Security Watch Officer will also play a role in supporting ESOC analysts by assisting with the collection and processing of OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) feeds, ensuring timely and accurate information is shared for situational awareness and decision-making. Direction for roles and responsibilities may come from the Watch Operations Lead, ESOC Operations Manager, ESOC Senior Program Manager, and/or the Senior Director Special Projects.

Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Surveillance Monitoring: Continuously observe and monitor surveillance camera feeds, sensors, and other security systems for any unusual, suspicious, or unauthorized activity. Ensure timely detection and documentation of incidents
  • Incident Detection and Reporting: Quickly identify, verify, and assess potential security events. Initiate alert notifications to supervisors, response teams, and clients ensuring proper escalation according to established protocols
  • OSINT Support: Assist intelligence analysts by gathering, sorting, and processing OSINT feeds from open-source platforms (e.g., social media, news outlets, public databases). Support analysts by flagging relevant information that could impact security operations or situational awareness
  • Communication: Act as the primary communication hub during day, evening, or night shifts, ensuring clear, concise, and accurate information flow between field teams, analysts, and decision-makers. Relay critical updates, alerts, and actionable information as needed
  • Log and Record Keeping: Maintain detailed, structured logs of all observed incidents, system alerts, OSINT feeds, and actions taken. Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and adheres to security and compliance standards.
  • System and Tool Proficiency: Operate surveillance, alerting, and OSINT collection systems. Troubleshoot and escalate technical issues as necessary, ensuring minimal disruption to monitoring operations
  • Incident Response Support: During security events, assist in the coordination of responses by providing real-time data, situational updates, and actionable intelligence
  • Other Duties: Assist with periodic system checks, support shift handovers, participate in ongoing training and exercises, and ensure compliance with all operational procedures. Assist analysts in compiling reports based on surveillance and OSINT data as needed. Complete all other duties as assigned by leadership
