About the role
Here at Siemens, we take pride in enabling sustainable progress through innovative rail technology. We do this through empowering customers by combining the real and digital worlds. Improving how we live, work, and move today and for the next generation! We know that the only way a business thrives is if our people are thriving. That's why we always put our people first. Our global, diverse team would be happy to support you and challenge you to grow in new ways. Who knows where our shared journey will take you?
Who designs your future? You do.
Are you a student looking for a part-time work-study internship where you can showcase your technical aptitude and passion for problem-solving? Does gaining hands-on experience, real-world skills, and valuable knowledge while developing yourself professionally sound exciting to you? Then look to the Siemens Mobility Internship Program!
We are looking for a Financial Technologies Intern. This position will be based at our New York City, NY area branch location.
During your time with us, you will have the opportunity as a member of the Treasury Team for Mobility in the Americas to immerse yourself with possibilities around financial/treasury topics (including guaranties and surety, cash management, foreign exchange, and insurance) as well as exposure to commercial topics such as bid preparation and ongoing project management.

A little bit about us!
Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail - including rolling stock, rail infrastructure, and service (our "Business Units"). We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.
How does Treasury play into the big picture?
The Treasury Team for Mobility Americas supports the Mobility Businesses Units with meeting financial/treasury needs around functions such as foreign exchange and liquidity management, insurance, and guaranties. Within the Treasury organization, we work with the Business Units throughout the project lifecycle from the pre-bid stage through project closure to manage requirements under the fields outlined above.
What you will do...
  • Work with internal and external finance professionals and IT technical professionals through shadowing and the assignment of relevant tasks to build practical knowledge.
  • Interface with different areas of the Treasury and Mobility organization and learn about how collaboration and teamwork drive success. Gain insight into Treasury/financial products and functions through technology-enabled process improvement, including exposure to guaranties/surety, Siemens applications and tools, data reconciliation, workflow support, AI tools such as Copilot/Copilot Studio, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

Critical Capabilities:
  • Apply classroom concepts to live business topics
  • Excellent communication skills including technical concepts
  • Collaborative mindset
