Audit & Assurance Intern – Spring/Summer 2027

A Larson Gross internship is an opportunity to experience what a career in public accounting is really like while learning alongside professionals who want to see you succeed.

As an Audit & Assurance Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in financial auditing, risk assessment, and client service while developing foundational skills for a career in assurance and public accounting. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to audit engagements, participate in training and professional development, and build relationships throughout the firm.

We don't expect you to arrive knowing everything. We are looking for students who are curious, willing to ask questions, open to feedback, and excited to learn.

During your internship, you may have the opportunity to:

  • Assist with substantive audit procedures and testing.
  • Prepare and document audit workpapers.
  • Review and analyze financial information to identify trends or inconsistencies.
  • Participate in walkthroughs of financial and operational processes.
  • Learn about internal controls, risk assessment, and financial reporting.
  • Work alongside associates, senior associates, managers, and other professionals on client engagements.
  • Ask questions, receive feedback, and develop your technical and professional skills.
  • Participate in training, networking, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Build experience with technology, automation, AI, and data analytics tools used within the accounting profession.

We're looking for students who bring:

  • Curiosity and a genuine willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Clear communication and an ability to collaborate with others.
  • Organization and time-management skills.
  • An analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • An interest in technology and how tools such as AI, automation, and data analytics are changing the accounting profession.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Interest in a career in audit, assurance, or public accounting.
  • Intention to pursue CPA licensure preferred.
  • Strong academic performance.
  • Previous accounting or internship experience is a plus, but not required.

Most importantly, we're looking for students who are eager to learn, contribute, and explore where a career in accounting could take them.

Compensation & Benefits:

The total rewards package at Current includes base salary and benefits. Our salary ranges are competitive within the accounting industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate's experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers. We provide a robust benefits package, including:

  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance (with options for fully paid employee only coverage for health and dental)
  • Company-Paid Life and Long-Term & Short-Term Disability Insurance
  • Ancillary Benefits such as supplemental life insurance, critical illness, and accident insurance
  • Classic Safe Harbor 401(k) Plan with employer contributions
  • Opportunities for professional growth, learning, and development including access to Becker and LinkedIn Learning

Equal Opportunity:

We are an equal opportunity employer, and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability, genetic information, or any other applicable legally protected characteristic.
