Our innovative, engineered solutions prevent roof and wall leaks and ensure storm shelters and safe rooms meet code requirements and protect occupants during severe weather events.

Year to date, RPH has successfully doubled revenue year over year—with momentum showing no signs of slowing. We're experiencing rapid expansion across both our New Jersey and Texas locations, and we're excited to grow our powerhouse team as we continue setting new benchmarks for performance, safety, and success in commercial construction.

About the Role

This role is a full-time role that directly reports to the New Products Engineering Manager. This role will be hybrid where day-to-day work will occur for 2-3 days in our office located in Waterford Works,New Jersey.

We're seeking a seasoned Process Design Engineer to assist the RPH R&D team with development and optimization of industrial processes involving both plastic and metal components. This role is ideal for a hands‑on engineer with deep experience in thermoplastics, injection molding, metal forming, and finishing operations—focused on improving efficiency, quality, and compliance across manufacturing systems.

About You

You're a hands‑on engineer with a passion for refining complex manufacturing systems. You bring deep technical expertise in thermoplastics, injection molding, and metal forming, and you're driven by the challenge of improving efficiency, quality, and compliance. You think critically, act decisively, and thrive in environments where innovation and precision go hand in hand. You collaborate well across teams, communicate clearly, and enjoy turning engineering challenges into scalable, real‑world solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct process simulations and modeling for operations such as injection molding, extrusion, stamping, machining, and surface treatment.
  • Specify and size equipment including molding machines, presses, CNC systems, dryers, and cooling systems.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external materials engineers, mechanical engineers, and operations teams to integrate new technologies and troubleshoot existing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, ISO, and ASTM standards relevant to plastics and metalworking.
  • Prepare technical documentation including risk assessments, SOPs, and commissioning plans.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Lead IQ/OQ/PQ validations.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and production teams during process implementation and optimization.
Core Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience in process design engineering within plastics and/or metals manufacturing environments.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience with cost estimation, lifecycle planning, and plant retrofits.
  • Strong understanding of injection molding, extrusion, heat treatment, welding, and surface finishing processes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
  • Preferred experience in simulation tools like ANSYS, Moldflow, DEFORM, or HYSYS.
  • Familiarity with material flow, thermodynamics, and tooling design for both plastic and metal products.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and cross‑functional communication skills.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
