We are currently seeking a Molding Process Technician/Operator with the following qualifications:

Title: Molding Process Technician/Operator

Hours: M-F: 3pm-11:30pm

Position: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Location: Willernie, MN (N. St. Paul)

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Process Technician is responsible for auditing, analyzing, and documenting key parameters of the molding process for all tools as well as measuring CTQ dimensions dictated by our control plans, working with the quality group and production technicians.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Measure CTQ dimensions and conduct visual inspections per the control plan/blueprint to help qualify runs. Documenting activities in the event log
  • Measure and analyze CTQ dimensions and input them into our SPC shop floor database. Documenting activities in the event log
  • Collect and monitor key molding process parameters on all validated tools looking for trends, spikes or shifts in the process and inputting the data into our SPC shop floor database. Documenting activities in the event log
  • Set-up, removal, and general maintenance of tooling including auxiliary equipment
  • Ability to perform thorough quality checks and perform tasks with accuracy
  • Basic tool repair and pull/set tools on molds
  • Complete Reel and Lead Frame changes as required
  • Load programs, set process parameters and/or troubleshoot presses and tooling as required
  • Troubleshoot machine/process problems and correct in a timely manner
  • Respond to machine alarms, make process and or mechanical adjustments, and notify appropriate personnel as the situation requires
  • Provide continuous improvement and productivity ideas
  • Monitor materials, systems, equipment, and operations by practice 6s and Lean manufacturing principles
  • Monitor, start, and stop work orders in IQMS
  • Complete Sample runs as necessary
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced and team environment
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate Degree in Manufacturing and or advanced Technical Apprenticeship Program Certification
  • 1-5 Years of experience in similar roles in injection molding preferred
  • Knowledge of injection molding presses, injection molds, thermoplastics, and support equipment
  • Mechanical background is a must
  • Computer knowledge is required and knowledge of production monitoring and MRP systems
  • IQMS system experience is a plus
  • Basic understanding of SPCs and SQCs
  • Able to read blueprints
  • Able to use measurement equipment
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to resolve complex problems and manage tasks furnished in written and oral form
  • Strong troubleshooting skill

The work environment is at a manufacturing facility with moderate noise levels. Team Members will be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
