CG Plastics is looking to add a 3rd Shift Process Technician to our team, within our Comstock Park, MI facility! Keep in mind that 3rd shift employees receive a 10% shift premium.ย 

The Process Technician Job requires candidates to operate plastic injection molding machines and to be responsible for all functions of process including set-up, operator, trouble-shooting, material handling and daily machine maintenance. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing facility with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and read, write, and count accurately. We are seeking candidates who are reliable and can work effectively as part of a team or independently.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Establish injection molding process on new tooling following customer standards and/or best industry practices.
  • Provide customers with excellent service.
  • Run samples per instructions on sample requests generated by customers.
  • Inspect parts for quality defects.
  • Ensure quality procedures for samples are being followed (Signed-off customer, part, packaging requirements, etc.).
  • Perform operator, material handler, and set-up duties.
  • Provide training to mold set-up and operators.
  • Maintain a clean and safe organized work area at all times.
  • Perform weekly PM's with maintenance department.

  • Provide processing support for production.
  • Trouble shoot machine issues, process issues, quality issues, etc.
  • Trouble shoot auxiliary equipment and automation, robot and end or arm tool tooling.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all safety standards
  • Monitor automatic molding machines and ensure parts satisfy quality specifications.
  • Answer press alarms to maximize press efficiencies.
  • Inspect parts for quality defects.
  • Provide feedback on quality findings and report processing problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Meet all quality, quantity, and Good Manufacturing Practices to satisfy the customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain neat and orderly work areas to ensure efficiency and no safety hazards.
  • Review paperwork for proper documentation to comply with procedures.
  • Follow outlined procedures, safety guidelines, quality and cost standards are met to maintain the company's mission and standards.

  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in plastic injection molding required.
