Job description


Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on injection and blow molding machines and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine root causes minimizing downtime.
  • Complete work orders, maintenance records, and documentation accurately and timely.

Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, sensors, motors, drives, and control systems.
  • Repair and replace motors, valves, pumps, bearings, belts, hoses, and other machine components.
  • Calibrate machine controls and instrumentation as needed.

Injection and Blow Molding Equipment Support
  • Maintain and repair:
  • Injection molding machines
  • Blow molding machines
  • Robots and automation systems
  • Material handling systems
  • Resin dryers and hoppers
  • Chillers and cooling systems
  • Air compressors
  • Conveyors
  • Hot runner controllers
  • Temperature control units
  • Vacuum loaders
  • Assist in machine startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and new equipment installations.

Facility Maintenance
Perform maintenance on facility systems including:
  • Electrical distribution systems
  • Water and cooling systems
  • Support facility improvement projects and capital equipment installations.

Safety and Compliance
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Participate in safety training and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality systems, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintenance procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical certification, trade schooling, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial machinery and automated equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in plastics injection and blow molding manufacturing.
  • Experience with robotic automation equipment.
  • Perform PLC programing
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Forklift, aerial lift, and crane rigging experience.

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or on call as needed.

Work Environment
The Maintenance Technician works primarily in a plastics injection and blow molding manufacturing environment where exposure to machinery, moving equipment, elevated temperatures, noise, and industrial materials is common. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
