Job description

The Internship Program Coordinator is a member of the Center for Career Developments (CCD) Internships and Industry Partnerships team, reporting to the Assistant Director of Internship Programs, and will support the Yawkey Nonprofit Internship Program, Launchpad Program and other internship or similar programs as the CCD expands its offerings for students. These programs may distribute over $1 million annually to students, making it possible for them to explore career options and develop career competencies through experiential learning. The Coordinator will work across programs, providing administrative support, responding to student and employer inquiries, maintaining application workflows, following-up with students and employers, planning events, and other tasks as needed. The Coordinator frequently interacts with students, employers, campus colleagues and other key constituents, providing excellent customer service and timely information. Additionally, the Coordinator will carry out daily tasks to maintain internship program operations and assist with special projects as needed.


Required Skills

Customer service experience, providing helpful feedback and guidance to individuals, through in-person, remote, and e-mail/written communication. Excellent communication skills, including writing messages, procedures, guidelines, and similar documentation. Experience managing projects with attention to detail and collaboration with others, strong organizational skills. Ability to collect, sort, and report numerical information on use of services, employer engagement, student participation and budget. Ability to utilize computer technology and on-line systems, such as the CCDs on-line career services management and recruiting platform, experiential learning database, office applications and the like. Cultural competency, commitment to inclusion, equity and engagement of students, employers, and colleagues. Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed to support CCD programming. This position is represented L2324, full-time, 52 weeks, Grade 25, Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00, 35 paid hours per week, with one-hour unpaid lunch break daily.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist with the design, implementation and day-to-day operation of multiple application processes for designated internship programs, managing a large number of applications with several components, and supporting those processes through scheduling, responding to inquiries, tracking applications, supporting selection procedures and award communication and distribution.
  • As students fulfill their internship and experiential learning assignments, track student progress, follow-up with students and employers on any missing information, schedule check-in meetings for students and staff, educational internship experiences for students.
  • Provide support for program outreach to employers in the Boston area and beyond to cultivate new internship opportunities for students. Contact specific employers, arrange meetings, confirm scheduling and assist with meeting preparation (i.e., requested data, program information, materials, etc.).
  • Assist with distribution and tracking of stipends for students, maintain accurate records of stipend awards, respond to student inquiries, and support budget management by reviewing records, reconciling account information and producing reports.
  • Support program evaluation and continuous improvement by collecting and organizing feedback or survey responses, produce reports, and implement changes to program policies and procedures that streamline and enhance the student and employer experience using available technology.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed, assist with event planning and program activities to engage students and employers, and support CCD programs, events, and services.
