Job description

JOB TITLE: Job Developer

FLSA: Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Employment Services

REPORTS TO: Senior Job Developer

LOCATION: Queens, NY

SALARY: $47,000.00 to $52,000.00


SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Senior Job Developer, the Job Developer establishes and maintains activities to develop, locate, and secure job opportunities for program participants. Proof of covid 19 vaccine is required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and maintains employer relationships in the community
  • Assesses participants’ skill sets and experiences in order to seek appropriate job opportunities for them
  • Participates in outreach and recruitment activities by coordinating and attending job fairs
  • Develops employer resources information and maintains a job bank
  • Delivers job readiness-training workshops to program participants, simulating workplace environment whenever possible
  • Assists participants in assessing their job skills for positions
  • Instruct participants in job seeking, application procedures, resume writing, interview preparation, and job retention skills
  • Provides job search/career information workshops and presentations to participants/residents
  • Arranges interviews
  • Provides participants with Labor Market information
  • Develop work experience program internships placement sites
  • Conducts job site visits after placement to ensure success by providing job analysis
  • Monitors participant performance on the job and counsel participants when job performance is not satisfactory
  • Refers qualified participants to employers and conducts necessary follow-up after participants are placed in positions
  • Knowledgeable about training and educational opportunities available to participants/residents.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree and two years’ experience in sales, job development, social service or employment and training programs working with disadvantaged adults. Must have valid NYS Driver’s License and car available for work.
