Job Description:
  • Collaborates with internal teams and external partners including public health officials, healthcare coalitions, and vendors to enhance infection prevention outcomes.
  • Leads the implementation and continuous improvement of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program, aligning initiatives with organizational quality and safety goals.
  • Monitors compliance with IPC standards and conducts surveillance using epidemiologic principles and statistical tools to detect disease trends, clusters, and outbreaks.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of infection surveillance systems and modifies plans based on outcome data and benchmarking.
  • Conducts facility rounding, audits, and IPC assessments, identifying gaps in cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and providing actionable feedback.
  • Develops and delivers IPC education programs customized to the audience's needs, improving staff competency and compliance.
  • Provides subject matter expertise for interdisciplinary teams, driving quality improvement and risk mitigation strategies through data analysis.
  • Performs detailed risk assessments, develops measurable action plans, and contributes to performance improvement activities.
  • Collaborates with internal teams on antimicrobial stewardship programs. Leverages technology for surveillance and reporting, ensuring data integrity and timely submission to applicable regulatory systems.
  • Advocates for evidence-based practices, maintaining adherence to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in research and quality improvement initiatives, differentiating between QI and research, and disseminating results through education and consultation.
  • Contributes to product evaluation and cost-effectiveness initiatives, supporting organizational goals through informed decision-making and business case development. Other duties as assigned.
