Whether your interests lie in K-12 education, ESL, social work, nonprofit management, communications, business, or community outreach, this internship offers the chance to work alongside experienced educators and nonprofit leaders on programs that truly change lives.

What You'll Do

Interns will support day-to-day operations of LaAmistad's afterschool and family programs. You'll receive valuable mentorship, gain practical skills, and work in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Support teaching staff and volunteers during afterschool programming for K-12 students
  • Assist in developing and delivering instructional activities and materials
  • Help translate communication for families in English and Spanish
  • Support parent engagement efforts and school-home communication
  • Collect, enter, and organize program data
  • Prepare program materials and assist with outreach or event planning
  • Respond to inquiries from students, parents, or staff
  • Participate in staff meetings or trainings as appropriate
  • Perform other duties based on your skills, goals, and site needs

Note:
Physical mobility is required to walk campuses, carry up to 30 lbs., push carts, and navigate stairs.
